The individual chosen for this position will be responsible for all aspects of disassembly of the corrosion test vehicles, preparation of vehicles for evaluations and inspections, and assisting in other aspects of corrosion testing. The duties include working with the other members of the Corrosion Department.

Responsibilities

  • Removal of interior components.
  • Removal of engine and drive train components.
  • Preparation of vehicle for outer skin inspection by removing all body plugs, clips, and other components.
  • Clean vehicle for evaluation.
  • Disassemble vehicle components (hood, doors, trunk, etc.).
  • Drill out spot welds, cut laser welds and disassemble each individual body panel.
  • Must be able to perform heavy lifting and perform work such as tire changes, transmission removal etc.
  • Package and store body panels for evaluation.
  • As assigned drive Corrosion vehicles on a rotational basis, to mitigate risk for injury due to repetitive motion.
  • Perform other duties as requested or required by management.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment and promote overall team effort.
  • Focus on meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Responsibilities involve a definite degree of skill, accuracy and cooperation.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of customer policies and procedures.
  • Ability to complete concise and accurate documentation.
  • Promote safety awareness and assure compliance with all safety practices.
  • Communication skills, verbal and written, are a priority.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Knowledge of vehicle components, systems, and operating procedures.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Minimum of four (4) years licensed driving experience with the ability to obtain minimum of “D” level track certification.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification. Must be able to drive a manual as well as an automatic transmission.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift to 80 pounds.
  • Job requires standing, and bending for approximately 6-8 hours on a daily basis.
  • Must be available to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and Physical required.
