    This position will be responsible for the engineering, design, analysis, development, testing and production release of Automotive Components for the body of a vehicle.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with complex components, sub-assemblies and systems
    • Develops, refines and finalizes criteria and typical sections using math data, updates as required
    • Integrate state-of-the-art design, manufacturing methods, and assembly methods into product concepts and designs as required for optimizing designs for automotive components
    • Design and development of automotive components
    • Performs complex design analysis, appropriate component level studies/alternatives, and recommends engineering solutions based on cost, mass, timing, design for assembly, variation and other program imperatives
    • Analyze mechanical structures and systems, utilizing knowledge of similar product, conceptual layouts, and analysis
    • Supports engineering activities with other functions (e.g. suppliers, suppliers quality, purchasing) to ensure delivery of product meeting requirements and imperative
    • Document designs and technical project data using accepted engineering documentation practices
    • Release of parts in PRISMA, updating assemblies and subassemblies
    • Support the module leader and their team in processing engineering changes

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in mechanical Engineering (MSME preferred)
    • 2+ years’ experience in your field (quality engineering, design engineering, product engineering, etc)
    • 2+ years of automotive experience including working with component suppliers, development groups, service providers or manufacturer producing or servicing components used in the automotive field
    • CATIA V5 knowledge
    • SAP, PRISMA and PDM Web client experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
