    The Automotive Test-Manager/Technician is responsible for conducting automotive pre-series testing operations and special test events in cooperation with test engineers and/or according to OEM’s proprietary testing systems and methodologies. Furthermore to introduce local test-technicians to the project and assist them with difficult tasks. Specifically, responsibility in training and building a local team regarding the OEM’s proprietary testing systems and methodologies. Test subjects are mainly automotive electric and electronics systems and automotive cross-section technologies, such as advanced driver assistance systems and electric pre-series vehicles.

    Responsibilities

    • Testing of automotive electric and electronics systems and automotive user interface concepts and technologies, according to OEM’s proprietary testing systems and methodologies
    • Test driving and evaluating vehicles
    • Validation of advanced driver assistance systems and other new technologies
    • Validation of electric pre-series vehicles
    • Upgrading E/E systems with hardware components and software packages (flashing), according to OEM’s proprietary methodologies
    • Technical problem solving and repairs of E/E systems of test vehicles in Whole Vehicle-, E/E System and drive train validation process;
    • Analysis of traces and fault memories with OEM’s proprietary testing systems and software
    • Installation of suitable measurement equipment connected to vehicle’s electronic cross-section
    • Reporting of missing components, technical issues to the customer/OEMs
    • Initiation of safety checks by qualified personnel after fitment of safety critical components, e.g. advanced driver assistance systems, high voltage tests, etc.
    • Initialization and release of vehicles after updates in accordance to customer's specifications
    • Documentation of technical problems/solutions and status of E/E systems
    • Introduction of other test technicians to the project, and assist them with difficult tasks

    Qualifications

    • Associate’s Degree or Journeyman Certificate in Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, as Engineer/Technician or in similar field (test planning, execution and reporting, electric engineering, electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, and/or automotive engineering).
    • Specialized training course in OEM’s proprietary testing systems and methodologies and the respective projects customer’s technology
    • A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience as automotive mechatronics or testing technician working directly or indirectly for major automotive OEM (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
    • Experienced with MS Office
    • Expert knowledge with customer’s proprietary tools
    • Experienced and qualified in being responsible for planning, development and implementation of OEM’s proprietary testing systems and methodologies for purposes of vehicle control unit upgrades, validation of new automotive technologies and electric cars
    • Expert knowledge in OEM’s proprietary testing systems and methodologies
    • Experienced in most recent electrical technology of customer’s fleet
    • Detailed knowledge of customer’s internal structures and project landscape
    • Experienced in knowledge transfer regarding OEM’s proprietary testing systems and methodologies for pre series automobiles
    • Fluent German and English language skills preferred
