    The Product Line Engineer has to manage the technical content in the acquisition phase.

    He has to provide support in technical choices during development (as part of the Engineering Project Management team). Participate to Product Lines deployments and consolidation (via networks and developments). He will lead allocated firefighting missions in case of crisis.

     

    Responsibilities

    • In the Acquisition phase

     

      • Manage OEM & internal technical interfaces
      • Define technical assumptions based on POAE standards and product challenges to be competitive
      • Attend to the milestones and argue the technical choices.
      • Provide to AVP teams (Exploratory consultation phase ) the product inputs : BOM
      • Built up technical file summarizing product assumptions (OEM inputs, diversity, definition, tool options, logistic, process, quality, planning, patents, benchmark and innovations)
      • Make the risk analyse with Quality department and participate to the risk action plan.
      • Present and defend internally and with the OEM the Technical file.

    • In the Development phase

     

      • Bring technical support to EPM (Engineering Project Management) regarding technical choices and issues analyse.
      • At J1 milestone, transfer project data and background to the nominated project team.
      • Participate and validate product design while EFC, Design Reviews and Quad Reviews
      • Participate to Isostatism definition and geometric engagement.
      • Participate to Geometric analysis (prototype and production).
      • Participate to Validation analysis (prototype and production).
      • Participate to risk analysis.

     

    • PRODUCTION / PRODUCT LINES DEVELOPMENT
      • Participate to project follow up during production phase: technical support, productivity, optimisation and capitalization.
      • Interface with innovation to define product evolutions expected by OEMs and specification to perform at the time to deploy, lead expertise the OEM
      • During development, support product maturation, extract and formalize product design standards

    Qualifications

    • BS degree in engineering field (industrial, mechanical, electrical) or 4+ years’ experience in quality engineering, design engineering or product engineering
    • Automotive experience is required.
    • Ability to drive investigate root cause analysis of functional issues.
    • Knowledge of Manufacturing process
    • Knowledge of Strong analytic work methodology and problem solving skills
    • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Knowledge
    • Problem solving experience.
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Effective with the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to review and understand CAD drawings
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (both written and verbal)
