    We are looking for a flexible dynamic Technician with engineering background and tool knowledge. The candidate will support a fast paste environment by developing, optimizing and building of small tools and fixtures using manual machinery at the internal tool shop.

    The Mechanical Tool Technician will function as support to the existing tool design team and will be responsible for manufacturing, modifying, and evaluating small hand tools, fixtures, and equipment for new products and changes. The Mechanical Tool Technician will require interaction with internal customers, as well as suppliers and contractors.



    • Operating manual machinery (mill, lathe, saw, etc.) to manufacture and modify new prototype assembly tools and fixtures according to verbal instructions or prints provided by the design team.
    • Evaluating, problem solving, and improving tools and fixtures during hardware trials.
    • Adding shims to adjust and calibrate existing tools and fixtures.
    • Assembling and Installing tools, fixtures, and equipment.
    • Designing-, Manufacturing-, and Building simple and fast prototype tool solutions.
    • Working hand-in-hand with tooling design engineering team to communicate updates to drawings.


    • 3+ years’ experience building small tools, fixtures, and equipment.
    • 3+ years’ experience operating the following machines or equipment:
      • Manual mill
      • Manual lathe
      • Saws – vertical and horizontal band
      • Grinding machines
      • Welding equipment – MIG, TIG, stick
    • Candidates must have the ability to read and understand technical drawings.
    • Candidates must have knowledge of plastics, steels, stainless steels, and aluminums – specifically understanding the properties, post-treatment methods, ability to machine, modify, weld, etc.
    • Candidates must speak fluent English.
    • Candidates must be physically adept and mobile. Must have the ability to work in a mobile fashion for eight to ten (8-10) hours a day, with or without reasonable accommodation. 
    • Ability to lift up to fifty (50) lbs. repeatedly, with or without reasonable accommodation.
    • Preferred: Ability to read and comprehend electrical and pneumatic drawings.
    • Preferred: Experience in Microsoft Office applications
    • Preferred: Mastercam (CNC Programming) Experience
