    This position acts as the liaison between the process partners Production, Pilot Hall, Logistics, Quality Assurance and R&D in Chattanooga and other different brands / departments / plants. You will be responsible for supporting the R&D Vehicle Integration Team to ensure a successful launch and ramp up of new models and model year changes. The R&D Specialist will manage a fleet of vehicles that need preparation for upcoming events and tests.

    Responsibilities

    • Active risk management regarding all job related topics in cooperation with Development Department in Wolfsburg / Germany and involved departments.
    • Accompanying of press and special cars during production process.
    • Responsible for special car finish according to special requirements.
    • Ensure the buy off acceptance for the single check points and final management approval.
    • Lead a special finish rework team (local and external team members).
    • Responsible for safety and 5S in the workshop.
    • Be a communication link between R&D Germany and various agencies like Purchasing, Program Management, Logistics, Assembly and Production.
    • Hands on assistance in the analysis and in resolving any interior / exterior / electric / powertrain / chassis issues during preparation of special cars.
    • Knowledge about main rework actions for the implementation in special cars.
    • Knowledge about important AEKO or AWE for the implementation in special cars.
    • Check radio noise, vibration (acoustics)

    Qualifications

    • BS degree (Engineering field preferred)
    • 6 years of experience
    • Experience in interfacing Production, Quality Assurance, Pilot Hall, Logistics and Customer Service
    • Project management experience
    • Special automotive knowledge – special car preparation or similar background
    • Ability to train new local staff
    • If possible, experience in the co-operation with OEM development departments
    • Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills
    • Attention to details with the ability to organize, plan and prioritize workloads
    • Experience with vehicle integration preferred
    • German language skills preferred
