This position is located at a major automotive manufacturer to provide Validation and Requirements services for the development of Navigation functionality in German automotive vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Perform benchmarking of features through IQS market analysis, customer surveys, and competitor analysis based on project needs.
  • Identify requirements for US market. Validate and confirm need for the requirements through customer feedback and industry standards.  All requirements are communicated and agreed with responsible development departments and ABK.
  • Discuss, Negotiate, and Submit US Requirements to development departments.
  • Maintain daily contact and follow up with development departments to ensure US requirements are included in project lastenheft/specification and implemented according to customer needs and agreed project milestones.
  • Analyze JD Power IQS, as well as further sources such as Customer Feedback Survey, US competitor offerings and dealer feedback in order to extract customer opinions and preferences.

Validation Content

  • Perform test activities of software functions and map databases.
  • Support the development process by validating unofficial software and databases depending on project need.
  • Plan, perform and participate in test drives (long and short distance) for the current vehicle projects.
  • Create, maintain and manage test cases for current and future systems features.

Post Validation Support & Maintenance

  • Document test results, including error description, in error management systems (ALM), and escalate if necessary.
  • Pre-analyze test results in cooperation with the development departments and SW suppliers.
  • Communicate regularly with developers.
  • On-site support for local supplier management to ensure that all project partners are aligned with latest status.
  • Manage test documentation including test cases, test planning, test results, etc.
  • Report project status and test results to EI departments using the standard reporting tools.
  • Synchronize and prioritize with other US testing sites regarding the project status and open topics to ensure an aligned feedback.
  • Provide direct support to the organization by sharing technical knowledge and assisting in the resolution of customer issues.  Interfaces included, but not limited to, Technical Service, Product Planning, TeileClearing, and Marketing.
  • Travel to client locations in Oxnard, CA and Spartanburg, SC as well as client based on project needs.
  • Participate in required training, including driver training.  All expenses for training and travel required are to be paid by selected vendor.

 

 KPI’s

  • All errors are to be documented in ALM/QC within 24 hours of discovery. 100% of tickets are to be submitted with all documentation and traces by next business day.
  • All assigned test cases are to be completed on weekly basis according to agreed time schedule.
  • Evaluate risks and detect deviations in milestone plans of vehicle project according to US market perspective.
  • Monthly report on current project status for deficits in project progress and/or delays in performing the needed validation/requirements tasks need to be explained along with proposed solutions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Automotive Engineering.
  • Preferred 2 years of Infotainment/Navigation experience.
  • Technical fluency in German and English.
  • Valid US Driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Available for overnight business travel.
  • Preferred German automotive electric/hybrid vehicle trainings.
  • Effective communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
